Beyond Times
«To the author, the meaning of a painting exhibition is always a matter, one could say, unquestionable. Never will it happen by mere chance.
This requirement will be verified now, at the moment in which the showcase in Galeria “Cor Espontânea” is announced.
If we consider the artworks’ dates, we will reach the conclusion that they were executed in a short amount of time. This is reason enough for us to inquire about what led the author to “vary” the technical, structural, styling questionings, among others.
The truth is that, I myself, am ready to assume those responsibilities: nothing, or no one, will prevent this signal to go forward unequivocally.
But the meaning of these few words is another. The space of this exhibition and the work itself sustain a consistent line. One could say that the artworks were born there.
I am delighted with this promising meeting because painting is something physical that will continue, beyond the “times”, to demand decent spaces favourable to contemplation and exchange of comments between the audience. I think that Galeria "Cor Espontânea", created by Fernando Baganha, my friend, has magnificent conditions to fulfil that cultural function.
