From Paris to Oporto
It was in 1992, when I assumed the leadership of the Magellan Gallerie, that I entered the wonderful world of the art, until then unknown to me,that even today I don’t master in its full extent.
It was there that I met the Master Resende, at the exhibition "Les Illes do Cap-Vert". I had the privilege to discover this man who in his wisdom and simplicity respects others, regardless of their social and cultural status. This marked me until today.
After 40 years of living in Paris, that helped growing a lot and that I will never forget, I got back to the land that watched me being borned.
In the context of my past experiences, I had the idea of creating a space in Present. Thus was born the "Cor Espontânea", a space of art that reflects showcases and promotes the artistic creation. It was opened in 2008 in Boavista Avenue.
However, the lack of space led to the opening, in 2009, of a new gallery in Bom Sucesso Street. This new place, now with the name of Baganha Galeria and with six exhibition rooms, it allows simultaneous exhibitions from several generations, of consecrated artists and new talents of painting.
In 2009, to my great surprise, came the invitation from the Master Resende, to have exclusivity of his artworks. This project won a new dimension.
It was a unique privilege.
Many thanks to the Master Júlio Resende.
