Orlando Pompeu

He was born in May 24th 1956, in Fafe. He studied drawing, painting and sculpture in Barcelona, Oporto and Paris. In the 90’s he progressed in his artistic path by going to work in the United States of America, first, and then in Japan. His work is presented in several private and official collections in Portugal, Spain, France, England, Brazil, the United States and Japan. The artist owns a career of almost thirty years as well as an unparalleled national and international curriculum. Holds single and collective exhibitions regularly since 1978, in and outside Portugal. Álvaro Queiroz directed, recently a movie about Orlando Pompeu’s work, edited by the Cinemateca Portuguesa – ANIM – Arquivo Nacional das Imagens em Movimento.
