Mário Neves Ferreira da Silva, also known as Mazza, born in 1983, is a plastic artistic and initiated his studies at the Oporto British School, in Oporto. He graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Liverpool, England, and performed his traineeship at Tate Gallery. He participated in several exhibitions in the United Kingdom, and got back to Portugal in 2004. He participates regularly in the Cerveira's Biennial and he boosted an urban event, the “Contemporary Art at the Neighbour’s Garage”, in Maia. He published three editions of the “Sangue Novo” newspaper and he attended a collective exhibition alongside Júlio Resende, held by the Baganha Galeria. In painting, Mazza seeks a diversity of themes: he started by exploring Baudlaire’s poetry through the installation “As Sombras da Natureza”; going through the digital art, inspired by the 80’s’ videogames. Nowadays he lives and works in Maia. He attended the Master degree on Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto.
