Portuguese sculptor and ceramist (1954). He graduated in Drawing from the Árvore Collective (ESAD), in 1982, under the influence of the master Sá Nogueira, and he specialized in Potter’s Wheel, Glazed Stoneware and Raku, at the La Bisbal School of Ceramics, in Catalonia.  

Since 1981, he dedicated himself to teaching ceramics, either in the sphere of vocational training or specialization courses, traineeships supervision, workshops and course structuring. He is a ceramic instructor since 1985. He teaches at the Open Courses at the “Árvore” Artistic Activities Collective since 1986. He was a founding member, in 2005, of the Ceramics Project “Oficina 2000&5”. In 2007 he was a member of the jury at the 8th International Biennial of Artistic Ceramics of Aveiro. He executed, in 2010, an embossed ceramic panel of 0,75mx100mx0,05m for the exterior of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Vilamoura.

In 2011 he executed a three-dimensional modular mural in glazed ceramics of 300x1000 cm for the interior of the Cerveira’s Biennial Forum building.
He is considered by several critics as the most remarkable Portuguese ceramist of nowadays.
