Ferreira Rocha

Mozambican painter, he was born in 1951. He lives and works in Paris since 1976. In the 80’s he produced a series revolving on the world’s hunger issue (Espaço Fome). In 1983-84 he started a new series, “Immatrieux”, whose principals elements are the technology, memory, Earth and the human presence in space. In 1993-94, Ferreira Rocha took part in the urban intervention project “Lisbon 94, European Capital of Culture”, with the execution of a fresco of 1200 m2, nearby Cais do Sodré station.
