


Charles Lapicque

French painter (1898-1988), he graduated in engineering. He studied art in an autodidact way and developed skills in painting, imprinting techniques and sculpture. Only since 1943 did he dedicate exclusively to the arts, after having signed a contract with a gallery. His artworks have the liberation of Paris as central topic. In 1958 was published the dissertation “Essays on space, art and destiny”, in which Lapicque formulated the theory of his artistic work. Between 1969 and 197e he produced metal and plastic sculptures, as well as tapestries and lots of engravings. In 1979 he received the “Grand prix national de peinture".
