Aurélio Mesquita

Aurélio Mesquita was born in Porto, in 1952. With a diverse training in Painting and Graphic Arts, he attended the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. He does graphic design and illustration for children’s and school books from Oporto and Rio Tinto’s publishers. Throughout more than two decades, he has participated with enthusiasm in the promotion of numerous artistic and cultural events. Always sensitive to the written word, in times he wrote art and culture themes in various national press, as well as collaborated with local groups of poetry reading. In 2003, he published the book XYWH, where he exhibits a compilation of illustration and photographs of his own.
As an exercise of passion, he dedicates to Painting and Photography, having already held numerous single and collective exhibitions.
